Reset Two-Factor Authentication

Reset Two-Factor Authentication as a user

If you access the Kiosk using a smartphone, see Disable or Reset Two-Factor Authentication in the Kiosk on a Smartphone.
You may want to disable (optional 2FA) / reset (compulsory 2FA) your two-factor authentication, for example, if you think your device, that has your authenticator app, has been compromised. If 2FA is compulsory is, the next time you log into iPayroll, you will be required to set up your 2FA again.

Disable Your Two-Factor Authentication

If you are unable to log into iPayroll, you will need to contact your employer to ask them to disable your 2FA on your behalf.

  1. Log into iPayroll from your desktop computer or tablet.
  2. Open your iPayroll Profile by selecting your 'Logged in as your username' hyperlink at the top right of the page (next to Logout).
    The Preferences sub-menu of your profile displays.
  3. Select the Two Factor Authentication sub-menu.
  4. Select Disable.
  5. Select Confirm.
  6. A success message displays confirming 2FA has been disabled.
  7. You can now set up two-factor authentication again, if required.

Reset Your Two-Factor Authentication

If you are unable to log into iPayroll, you will need to contact your employer to ask them to reset your 2FA on your behalf.

  1. Log into iPayroll from your desktop computer or tablet.
  2. Open your iPayroll Profile by selecting your 'Logged in as your username' hyperlink at the top right of the page (next to Logout).
    The Preferences sub-menu of your profile displays.
  3. Select the Two Factor Authentication sub-menu.
  4. Select Reset.
  5. Select Confirm.
  6. A success message displays confirming 2FA has been disabled.
  7. You can now set up two-factor authentication again. If you logout prior to setting up your 2FA again, the next time you log into iPayroll, you will be required to setup 2FA.
