Make sure your Android device is set to use the automatic date and time from your network provider. This setting is located in Date & Time, in your phone's settings.

Once this has been confirmed, then you can time sync the Google Authenticator app.

Before you scan the QR code, it is a good idea to time sync the Google Authenticator app.

  1. On your device, open the Google Authenticator app.
  2. In Google Authenticator, select the menu at the top right of the app, and select Settings. from the dropdown.
  3. In Settings, select Time correction for codes.
  4. Select Sync now.

If the time is already correct, a prompt will display - select OK.

Now you are ready to scan the QR code.
